We have an exciting opportunity for Research Fellow in Trial Methodology  (CONSORT & SPIRIT Reporting Guidelines) to work on an exciting international project led by the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU) and Centre for Statistics in Medicine at the Botnar Research Centre, NDORMS, University of Oxford.

As a Research Fellow in Trial Methodology you will have responsibility for undertaking high quality research within the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit / Centre for Statistics in Medicine, specifically in delivering a project to update the SPIRIT and CONSORT Statements for the reporting of randomised trials. You will be expected to plan and conduct research using mixed methods including conducting a scoping review of the literature, online Delphi survey, consensus meeting, report writing and dissemination activities. You will work closely with members of the project research team, establish and maintain good working relationships with all collaborators and support the drafting of scientific manuscripts, reports to funders and other materials for other audiences based on the results from research studies.

You will hold a postgraduate degree in a health related or scientific discipline (e.g. statistics, epidemiology, data science) or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field. Sound understanding of clinical  trials and the key principals related to their design and analysis, experience in mixed methods research and/or trial methodology research and excellent planning, organisational and time-management skill are essential. You will be an excellent communicator with strong IT and team working skills. Experience of writing scientific reports for peer review and publication, experience in carrying out literature reviews and demonstrable experience of using relevant reporting guidelines (i.e. SPIRIT and/or CONSORT Statement(s) are desirable.

This is a full-time fixed-term until 31/10/2023 appointment.
